Meet Sana Khan, MPH, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Sana Khan is a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who serves clients across the lifespan. After earning a Masters Degree in Public Health and providing outreach for the NYS Department of Health with the Long Island Minority Aids Association, she was introduced to psychiatry and was inspired to pursue her nursing degree.

She trained in advanced psychiatric nursing at Molloy College and earned a Masters of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Advance Nursing Practice, graduating with Honors Omega Delta Xi Rho Sigma. As a graduate student and Registered Nurse, she worked at one of the busiest Psychiatric Emergency Rooms at Kings County Hospital where she diagnosed and treated every type and presentation of psychiatric illness. She completed her clinical internships at two separate private practices where she was able to hone her skills as an outpatient provider.

She later became an Inpatient Provider working with clients with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. She excels in direct clinical care including psychiatric evaluations, crisis interventions, individual and group psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology.

She is now thrilled to return to her true passion, the world of outpatient care. Her focus is on forming individualized psychopharmacological plans customized to each patient, goal directed therapy and empowering clients by fostering their abilities and interests through sociocultural competence.
